Shaman King Trailer Highlights Netflix Anime Series Finale

Netflix has released a trailer for the final part of shaman kingthe anime reboot, as well as a release date for new episodes.

The preview focuses on the battle against the series’ protagonists, with a dire warning about the newly awakened Shaman King. Quick cuts of different characters highlight tough battles and emotional moments as Yoh Asakura and his friends band together to stop Yoh’s brother, Hao Asakura, and his goal of eradicating humans from the world.

The 2021 reboot of shaman king is directed by Joji Furuta (Visual Jail)​​​​​ with serial composition by Shouji Yonemura (One Piece 2013—present, Death Note, Fairy Tail). The animation is produced by the Bridge studio, best known for its work on The royal tutor, Yu Gi Oh! Seven, and the second half of Fairy tale.

Originally published as a manga from 1998 to 2004, shaman king saw a 2001 anime produced by studio Xebec (Negima! Magister Negi Magi, To Love Ru, BanG Dream!). In 2017, Hiroyuki Takei, the series’ original creator, announced that he had turned down the opportunity to do a reboot of the series when it appeared that the original voice cast would not be returning. In June 2020, the series was officially green-lit for a reboot, with many voice talents from 2001 anime reprising their roles; Actress and singer Megumi Hayashibara also returned to perform the opening and ending songs.

Since the manga ended in 2011, licensing rights to publish the series in English have passed from Viz Media to Kondansha, the new publisher publishing shaman king as a “complete” series of 35 books, both digital and printed. The series has been a commercial success domestically and globally, with 38 million copies of the manga in circulation as of March 2021. shaman king even managed to hit the New York Times bestseller list for manga in 2009 with the release of its 24th volume.

shaman king ended its run in Japan in April and has already announced a series of sequels. The new anime will be based on Takei’s 2012 sequel manga Shaman King: Flowers, and will focus on Hana Asakura, the son of The shaman king Yo and Anna. Additional details about the new series, including its cast, crew, and premiere date, have yet to be revealed.

shaman king season 1 part 4 will be released on Netflix on May 23rd.
