Pretty brand and pretty characters? quite fashionable!
Sailor Moon anime turns 30 this year, and one way Japan likes to celebrate is with collaborations. Fashion brand Anna Sui has long collaborated with the series because their aesthetics are so similar. This time, Anna Sui and Sailor Moon are teaming up to launch a range of limited-edition accessories, and there are eight different accessories in total, ranging from napkins to pouches, and more.
▼ Let’s start with these novelty handkerchiefs.
The handkerchiefs cost 2,000 yen (17.36 USD) each and come in three different designs: one with the Sailor Scout symbols surrounded by butterflies – one of Anna Sui’s popular symbols – one with Sailor Scout pens and one with the silhouettes of the 10 Sailor Scouts. Since Anna Sui’s designs typically feature purples, pinks, and blacks, they pair perfectly with the feminine color palette of the Sailor Moon series.
▼ What is as useful as tissues? Hand towels.
The collection also offers two different styles of handkerchiefs. One features a rendition of Sailor Scout’s transformation sequence, and the other shows Sailor Moon herself posing in front of an Anna Sui boutique, complete with butterfly wings. They only cost 1,000 yen each.
▼ There are even tools to store your own Moon Prism Power makeup (or just your makeup).
Looking for a new cover? Try one of these Anna Sui and Sailor Moon collaboration pouches in purple or black, for 4,000 yen each. The zipper is in the shape of a butterfly and the design in the center is meant to represent the 10 Sailor Scouts.
▼ And for those who want to shout their love for Sailor Moon loud and clear: shopping bags!
The final two pieces in the collection are these eco-friendly polyester tote bags. They even come with a pouch to store the bag when not in use! They use the same designs as some handkerchiefs and measure 30 centimeters wide by 34 centimeters high (11.8 inches by 13.4 inches).
So where can you get them? Reservations have started online at Gallery of handkerchiefs on February 10, but they won’t actually go on sale in stores and online until February 25. So mark your calendars; and if you fancy more 30th anniversary merchandise, check out their collaborations with Sanrio!
