It’s no secret that Netflix got their hands on some amazing original anime. They now have countless hits like The beasts, Little Witches Academy, and Carole & Tuesday that fans can only find streaming on their platform. Now it looks like they will bring another amazing production under their media umbrella.
Netflix has announced that they will be taking a new 13-episode original anime called Lady Napoleon today. The show is expected to feature some incredible talent that will bring it to life. Noriaki Akitaya, the anime director as Bakuman, High School Girl Battle, and Hello ♪ Sweet Love Pastry is about to lead the project while Shin Kibayashi of Kindaichi files fame is about to make history.
The action-fantasy anime follows Sophie, a descendant of Napoleon and head of the Lady Napoleon organization, which fights for world domination. With her butler, named Butler, and martial arts master Guy, Sophie travels through the world to collect the three sacred treasures left by Napoleon.
Netflix will likely have even more amazing anime announcements coming up, too. With deals to create original shows with CLAMP, Yasuo Ohtagaki, Otsuichi, Tow Ubukata, and Mari Yamazaki yet to be announced, the future of anime on the platform looks bright.
