Tickets for “Anime Bento” can be purchased for $10.00 at www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theatre box offices beginning August 17th. For a complete list of theatre locations, please visit the website (theatres are subject to change).

“We’ve had incredible success with the anime category in the recent past and NCM FATHOM is excited to debut the first annual anime festival in theatres with the hottest anime titles provided by the top anime studios in the industry – FUNimation Entertainment and Manga,” said Dan Diamond, vice president of NCM FATHOM. “The anime phenomenon has captivated teens and adults alike, and this special event is designed as a way for fans to meet and revel in their love for anime while experiencing it in a way they’ve never experienced it before – on the big screen.”

About the Titles

“Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles”
Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles is the latest exciting chapter of the Robotech saga. A heroic cast of returning characters, led by Scott Bernard and Vince Grant, fight to end a decades-long struggle against an enigmatic alien race known as the Invid. However, the mysterious disappearance of the legendary Admiral Hunter will unfold in a treacherous mystery that could tear apart our young heroes and threaten their very survival!

“Full Metal Alchemist – The Movie – Conqueror of Shambala”
It is 1923 in Munich. Two years have passed since Edward Elric’s sacrifice ripped him out of his world and into ours, separating him from his younger brother, Alphonse. In that time, Ed’s continued research into rocketry has allied him with Alphonse Heiderich, a fellow researcher who oddly resembles Ed’s brother. Progress has been slow, however, and Ed has become discouraged. But when he saves a quiet Gypsy girl with the power to read minds, Ed is quickly pulled into a plot by the Thule Society and the burgeoning Nazi Party that could drag both worlds into a terrible war. Back in his own world, Al has been unlocking new secrets of alchemy and gaining incredible powers, all in the hopes of finding Ed.

Battling the occult, ideological extremists, and monstrous Homunculi lurking in the shadows, can the brothers find a way to reunite without causing chaos and bloodshed? What will happen when the world of alchemy and the world of modern science collide?

“Lupin the III: The Castle of Cagliostro”
When master thief Lupin III, a.k.a. "The Wolf," inadvertently steals a fortune in counterfeit bills from a casino, he is quick to realize the high-quality printing plates that made them are worth even more. Tracing the source of the money to the small European country of Cagliostro, Lupin and his team of colorful outlaws cross swords with the local count over his forthcoming marriage to the last princess of the Cagliostro family. It’s a fast-paced adventure as Lupin must battle fearsome ninjas, rescue a damsel in distress and uncover the key to the lost Cagliostro fortune. This is the first feature film written and directed by Academy Award™ winning anime pioneer and visionary Hayao Miyazaki.

“Karas – The Prophecy”
MIKURA IS ON THE RISE AGAIN... Tokyo - a city populated by both humans and by ghostly beings. They exist in both dimensions, seen and unseen: spirits, apparitions, demons. The balance between these two dimensions has long been upheld by the city's guardian raven Karas and his masters. But that balance has been thrown into disarray as Eko, a former Karas, has attempted to seize power and bring order to the streets through force. The entity Yurine, who represents the will of the people, stands in his way with her newly risen Karas. Now an ageless battle stretching across both dimensions and killing humans and spirits alike is in progress between the two sides and their armies. Karas is humanity’s last hope.

Joyride Entertainment Kicks Off Summer At Origins, Anime Expo
Wednesday, June 07th 2006 - 09:31:33 AM
No more school, summer is here – and that means summer convention season is here as well! The first of the four major conventions JoyRide Entertainment is attending this summer (in addition to San Diego Comic-Con and Gen Con Indy) are both taking place Fourth of July weekend on separate sides of the country: Origins Game Fair in Columbus, Ohio (June 29-July 2) and Anime Expo in Anaheim, Calif. (July 1-4). Twice the shows means twice the chance to come out and see and enjoy Fullmetal Alchemist TCG!

Both shows are a great place to stop by and learn how to play the top new TCG of 2005, Fullmetal Alchemist TCG. Anyone who completes a demo of FMA TCG will receive a free booster pack from an FMA TCG set and be entered into our hourly raffle, with giveaways including FMA TCG starter decks, booster packs, hats, t-shirts, DVDs, and video games. Anyone who stops by the booth will also receive a free, exclusive Alphonse Elric, Impenetrable Armor promo card!

Looking to pick up the latest FMA TCG expansions? At Anime Expo, the JoyRide Entertainment booth will have starters and boosters from all of the FMA TCG expansions. At Origins, JoyRide Entertainment is partnering with Cardhaus Games to have a huge selection of FMA TCG booster packs and decks in stock. Picking up your favorite FMA TCG products from JoyRide or Cardhaus is the only way you can get your hands on one of the eight brand-new Heavy Duty (HD) cards (see the list here: http://www.fma-tcg.com/content/view/74/48/). These cards are unlike any other FMA TCG in existence: They’re printed on high-quality glossy cardstock and are twice as thick as a normal card! For every $20 you spend at the JoyRide Entertainment booth at Anime Expo or the Cardhaus Games booth at Origins, you get your choice of one of these HD cards, while supplies last.

Last summer our “Open a box, get a transmute” promotion was a huge hit, and it’s back at conventions this year! Just open 24 packs of any Fullmetal Alchemist TCG product (one 24-count box or two 12-count boxes) and you’ll receive a free transmutated card from Premier Edition, Blood & Water, Artificial Human, or A Hero’s Passing.

Summer conventions are also the best place for you to get your hands on the exclusive Transmutation (http://www.fma-tcg.com/content/view/188/48/) binders. These FMA TCG sets will be sold for $50 at Anime Expo, Origins, San Diego Comic-Con, and Gen Con Indy, as well as a few additional shows throughout the year. At Anime Expo, you can pick one up for at the JoyRide Entertainment booth; at Origins, you can get one at the Cardhaus Games booth. These binders are limited to one per person per day of each show and are limited to just 40 binders per day, so make sure to get yours early!

If you haven’t got your Gunslinging or staff cards yet, you’ll get another chance at Origins and Anime Expo. Edward “Edward Elric” Bolme and Ian “Alex Louis Armstrong” Ryan will be at Origins Game Fair, and Jason “Alphonse Elric” Winter and Trevor “Maes Hughes” McGregor will make the trek to sunny California for Anime Expo. All four staff members will have copies of all of their staff cards to give away -- thought some of them might make you have to earn them (appropriate bribes are appreciated). Each staff member will also have specific gunslinging times where you can challenge them for a Gunslinging card.

Finally, conventions are also the best place to play in both casual tournaments and against the best players the game has to offer! Both conventions have a full tournament schedule with great prizes. From the Regional Championships where you can qualify for the 2006 World Championships at Gen Con Indy and win a complete set of A Hero’s Passing to Sealed-Deck tournaments to Super Deformed tournaments, we’ve got a little bit of everything. Pick-up Sealed, Speed Draft, and constructed tournaments are available at both shows when four or more people are ready for a tournament, space permitting, with prizes will be provided by JoyRide Entertainment.

JoyRide Entertainment and Fullmetal Alchemist TCG – it’s a great way to kick off the summer!

Fullmetal Alchemist Tcg Expansion Plans For 2006 Announced
Tuesday, December 06th 2005 - 05:36:44 AM
JoyRide Entertainment’s Fullmetal Alchemist TCG has been the breakout hit of 2005, with a base set (Premier Edition) and expansion set (Blood & Water) selling well in hobby stores and receiving critical acclaim from players, collectors, and media. Many stores have reported frequent sellouts, and singles for the game are going for as much as $150 online!

The new year is already shaping up to be a big one for JoyRide and Fullmetal Alchemist TCG. The second expansion set, Artificial Human, releases Feb. 15, with pre-release events Feb. 3-5. It will add 110 more cards, with the same parallel foil set, chase, and transmutated plastic cards fans of the game have come to known. Also, for the first time, JoyRide will introduce a new card type (advantages) to FMA TCG and level-four leaders for all the major leaders in the game!

But that’s not all JoyRide has planned for Fullmetal Alchemist in 2006! A Hero’s Passing will release in May, and this extra-large set will have nearly 200 cards and cover events up to and including the tragic death of one of FMA’s most popular characters. A Hero’s Passing will also revisit some of the themes of earlier sets and include popular cards from those sets.

After A Hero’s Passing, fans can look forward to Alchemist’s Gate, coming in fall 2006, and Seven Deadly Sins in late 2006/early 2007. Both sets will be about 110 cards and cover approximately seven episodes of the anime.

Also, starting with Artificial Human, JoyRide will switch to a new display-box size. Artificial Human boxes will contain 12 booster packs, making it easier for stores to stock and representing a smaller initial investment for players and collectors.

Fullmetal Alchemist TCG was a great success for us in 2005, and we look forward to continuing that success in 2006,” said Brand Manager Edward Bolme. “We’ve even got another special product for FMA TCG in development; we can’t announce it yet, but we think fans will love it when they hear about it. Thanks again to all the fans and retailers who make our game great! Fullmetal Alchemist was an excellent choice for JoyRide Entertainment’s first TCG, and we look forward to releasing new games and new intellectual properties in 2006.”

Available now at your local bookstore!

"An original story translated from the Japanese! The Elric brothers travel to the ghost town of Xenotime - once a prosperous mining town, now slowly sinking beneath the drifting sands. To save their town, the inhabitants of Xenotime have hired two of the world's most powerful alchemists to create a Philosopher's Stone... and when the Fullmetal Alchemist and his brother meet them, sparks are going to fly. How can there be *two* sets of alchemists named Edward and Alphonse Elric? Plus a bonus story, "The Horror in Warehouse 13"!"
It seems that the second volume of the novelization of Fullmetal Alchemist will be out sometime in January according to Barnes and Noble.com at least. Go out and read people!
