R2 soundtrack gets a "meh"

For those interested in picking up R2's soundtrack, it might be a good idea to check out a review before you shell out for an import. Anime News Network dishes the latest critique.Unless you are familiar with the originating show, the songs are very out of context. While it's still easy to decide if something is a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ song, it's usually the accompanying storyline or animation that makes these types of songs ‘amazing’ or ‘terrible.’
In other words, unless you thought the background music was the bees' knees, you might not be entranced by this cd.

Sound episode is five alive
Nov 28 2008

With the end of R2, it only makes sense to wrap up the sound episodes, too. Here we go, without further ado, a sweet goodbye to the sound episodes. The last one is magical number five. The story is that Nunnally wants to open up a small business-a House of Oden-in hopes of deterring her gambling brother from...well, gambling. It's very safe to assume that she does not yet know of her brother's much worse dealings in the world.
The second sound drama throws Lelouch back in the time when he was trying to recover C.C.'s memory and revert her to her original, critical, cynical self. Other members of the Black Knights make an appearance.

It Ends Here...but not really
Nov 10 2008
[Feature]

Code Geass has not gone away, and won’t really, as long as they continue to roll out sweet merchandise like keychains, books, polished KMF models, and impossibly good-looking figurines at which you could stare all day. No, despite the new guidebook’s not-so-indicative title, “The Rebellion Ends Here”, it’s really another go at your heartstrings and works wonders on collectors. Curious? Take the jump for the content of the new guide book.
R2 came too!

[Notes]
Cartoon Network is pretty much pulling out all the stops. Skipping on the usually gratuitous episode reruns as with many other series, they've reeled in R2 in all its heart-pumping form. R2's first dubbed episode aired last week; now, they're changing its time slot to every Saturday at 2am. It's kind of crazy and I wonder if they're trying to rush the fnish of Code Geass. That would be an unwise move, considering that newcomers to the show would be completely alienated.

Mini me

This next set of keychains is the best on the market so far...if only its merits are just due to the fantastically miniaturized knightmare frames: the Lancelot, Guren and Gawain. They retail at about slightly less than $3 US each, so don't let ebay sellers rip you off should you decide to add these to your collection. Click on the image for the full shot.

The manga rebellion...is a fail
Oct 29 2008
[Two-cents]
Anime News Network has a review up for the first and second manga volumes of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. This is a manga adaptation of the anime, so everything from its main plot, to all the important scenes that unravelled the plot, even those wacky school distraction episodes are drawn in all its fan-pandering glory. Like all anime-adapted manga, it didn't receive a glowing review. I've read it, and I've decided that none of the Code Geass manga holds a candle to watching the action happen on screen. Plus, the artwork makes me go "Gah!"
